The Reelection Meeting of the Fourth Editorial Board of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine & the First Meeting of the Fifth Editorial Board was Successfully Held
On December 23, 2017, the reelection meeting of the Fourth Editorial Board of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine & the first meeting of the Fifth Editorial Board was grandly held at Beijing Ren Wei Hotel. The meeting was attended by nearly 100 people, including Tu Zhitao Director of Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhao Jing Editor-in-chief of the Fourth Editorial Board of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Bian Baosheng Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals, Wang Huiling Head of Science and Education Division of Beijing Municipal Administration of TCM, the representative of the proposed consultants of the Fifth Editorial Board and the members of the Editorial Board.
The meeting was presided over by Luo Zengang. At the meeting, Zhao Jing first made the summary report on the work of the Fourth Editorial Board, pointing out that under the leadership of the Beijing Municipal Administration of TCM as well as the supervision and support of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine and Beijing Association of Integrative Medicine and with the joint efforts of all the members of the Fourth Editorial Board, Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine has successfully completed various tasks during the term of the Fourth Editorial Board. At the meeting, the Editorial Board commended those editors of the Fourth Editorial Board who made outstanding contributions to the Journal.
At the meeting, the draft of the revised Articles of Association of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine was reviewed and approved, and the members of the Fifth Editorial Board, of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine were elected, of which Tu Zhitao was elected as Editor-in-chief of the Fifth Editorial Board, Zhao Jing as Editor-in-chief, Luo Zengang as Executive Deputy Editor-in-chief, and Bian Baosheng, Gu Xiaohong, Yang Minghui and Liu Qingquan as Deputy Editor-in-chief. Furthermore, at the meeting, the 24 executive members of the Editorial Board, 124 members and 11 youth members were also elected, and 3 honorary editors-in-chief and 22 consultants were also engaged at the same time.
After this, as a veteran of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liu Dianyong made a speech as a representative of consultants, in which Liu guided everyone to review the development history of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its significant roles in the academic exchanges in TCM, and encouraged the Fifth Editorial Board to make the Journal better and better so that it can make greater contributions to the inheritance and development of TCM by really basing it on Beijing, making international exposure and reaching out to the world. Liu also expressed that it should give full play to the role of consultants and allow them to contribute more to the development of the Journal. Liu Qingquan President of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, delivered a speech as a representative of the members of the Editorial Board. Liu expressed their deep feelings towards Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and urged the editors to publish those excellent papers with leading academic significance in the Journal. In this regard, it’s necessary to highlight the leading academic disciplines and stress the practicality of specialties by enhancing clinical efficacy as a fundamental and leading the academic development as a goal, thereby building Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine into an excellent academic journal.
Finally, as editor-in-chief of the Fifth Editorial Board Tu Zhitao addressed a speech, where Tu analyzed the current development status of Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, indicating the transformational direction of the Journal, and pulled the work ideas together for the Fifth Editorial Board in the eight aspects: hold topic-selecting meetings to determine report focuses; implement the team responsibility system, and establish the work mechanism of integrating an expert team with the Journal; achieve the trans-regional cooperation mechanism between traditional Chinese medicine and biomedicine, TCM plantation, cultural transmission and others; make public the system of assessing the editors of the Journal, establish the coordination system between a specialized committee and the Journal; set up work groups and perform grouped and classified work of the Journal; hold the meetings of the Editorial Board, determine the specific system and the responsibilities of the Editorial Board, set targets and tasks, and make the assessment and evaluation programs; advance with the times, and promote the development of the bilingual version and electronic version of the Journal.
Under the leadership of Editor-in-chief Tu Zhitao and with the joint efforts of the 5th Editorial Board and the editorial department, it’s certain that Beijing Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine will reach the higher-quality standards and gain higher reputation as a core journal of high-quality science and technology in China!
