She pointed out that with many years of clinical work, famous veteran TCM experts have their experience representative of the highest level of academic achievement at present. Their academic thoughts are very valuable and worthy of our inheritance and further development. Professor Guo Weiqin is a very outstanding TCM master at home. Beijing Municipal Administration of TCM has attached great importance to the work of inheriting and carrying forward the academic thoughts of famous veteran TCM experts. The spirit of medical specialists with lofty medical ethics and superb skills can be passed on and the cause of Chinese medicine can be promoted through the study and inheritance of Guo's academic thoughts.
Subsequently, Wang Wei, Vice President of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, expressed his congratulations on the establishment of the Branch on behalf of BUCM! He believed that he is proud of being a student of Master Guo. Guo has a profound academic background. In addition, with the formal college education at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, she has mastered profound medical knowledge and skills and done a good job in imparting her own academic ideas and can teach students according to their characteristics. Through the establishment of the Branch, it’s possible to carry out the in-depth, systematic and comprehensive inheritance, study and development of Guo's medical thoughts, which can lay a solid foundation for the subsequent innovation. He pointed out that TCM should highlight its own characteristics before the development can be achieved. In terms of methods, technology, or academic ideas, TCM should benefit other kinds of medical sciences and can also absorb other kinds of medical essences. Palace medicine is very developed in Beijing. In view of this, it’s necessary to excavate the essence of TCM contained in palace medicine, so as to better serve the masses and contribute to the health cause of human beings.
Finally, Professor Meng Wei once again expressed his gratitude to the leaders, experts and medical peers present at this meeting today for their support and trust! The activity ended successfully and the meeting was a complete success!

After the end of the opening meeting, the first Guo Weiqin academic thought seminar was held, which was hosted by Professor Meng Wei.
First of all, Professor Guo Weiqin made a special lecture on “Heart in Charge of Blood Vessel and Inner State” as well as the heart-nourishing exercise. As a disciple of Guo Weiqin Dai Yanyan conducted the on-site demonstration of the heart-nourishing exercise. Subsequently, Wang Yahong, a disciple of Professor Guo Weiqin, gave a detailed introduction of Professor Guo Weiqin's academic thoughts of treating heart diseases. Professor Liang Jinpu, Head of Guo Weiqin TCM Thought Inheritance Workstation, gave a special lecture on Professor Guo Weiqin's experience of treating chronic heart failure by “improving Qi and lung and promoting blood circulation and diuresis. The seminar was full of thick and warm academic atmosphere, where the masters gave lectures and the students listened carefully, with no empty seats left.
Finally, a speech was delivered by Professor Guo Weiqin, the first president of Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch under Beijing Palace Medical Research Association. Guo first expressed her gratitude to the leaders and peers for their great support and trust. He said that it’s her honor to become one of the first experts for whom their personal academic thought societies are established. Subsequently, she made a brief introduction of her academic research achievements, stressing that the academic research should advance with the times, and especially focus on the study of theoretic knowledge and the supplement of Western medical knowledge. She also stated that the continuous improvement of individuals’ own ability are required to do a better job in the TCM academic inheritance. At the same time, she raised ardent expectations for the younger generation of TCM practitioners. She suggested that young TCM practitioners should make an in-depth theoretical research and experimental research on academic thoughts, especially the empirical prescriptions with better curative effects, which are marked with the poor study on mechanism of action. In addition to spreading and inheriting academic thoughts, we must do a good job in further studying and developing the academic thoughts.
Subsequently, the first session of working personnel was elected, and the relevant certificates were issued. Through the unanimous voting by all the representatives, Professor Guo Weiqin was elected as President of the Branch, Professor Wang Xian as Executive President, Professor Qin Jianguo as Executive Vice President, and Professor Liang Jinpu as Vice President and Chief Supervisor. Professor Wang Yahong, Professor Zhang Lijing, Professor Huo Yanming, Professor Zhang Minghai, Professor Zhao Mingjing, Professor Fu Yalong, Professor Pan Guozhong, Professor Chen Buxing, and General Manager Cao Xueli were elected as Vice Presidents of the Branch, Professor Meng Wei as Secretary General, Professor Zhao Yong and Deputy General Manager Cheng Zhi as Deputy Secretary General. In addition, Professor Zhang Wengao, Professor Wang Shuoren, Professor Wang Wei and Professor Chen Lixin were appointed as academic advisors.
Following this, Mr. Xu Yanlong, Vice President of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association and Chairman of Dafu Group, said that he is very glad to have a chance of contributing to Chinese civilization and Chinese medicine. The establishment of Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch is an important event in the development history of palace medicine, which is also of great significance. He is also a beneficiary of TCM. He has avoided suffering from a surgery after receiving the TCM treatment, which has strengthened his belief in TCM. In the future, he will provide more support for the development of palace medicine and the progress of the TCM cause.
Wang Xian, President of Dongzhimen Hospital under Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, first expressed his congratulations on the establishment of the Branch on behalf of Dongzhimen Hospital. At the same time, he also said that the hospital will offer strong support for various work of the Branch! He stated that Dongzhimen Hospital has a clear idea of the inheritance of blood stagnation treatment skills. Dongzhimen Hospital's generations of cardiovascular academic leaders, especially Professor Guo Weiqin, can be deemed as a benchmark in the industry for her theory of blood stasis. She is also the pride of Dongzhimen Hospital. The hope is that all colleagues can carry forward Guo's medical ideas to better serve the majority of patients.
Firstly, as a disciple of Professor Guo Weiqin, Meng Wei made a report on the preparation process on behalf of the preparatory group of the meeting. In late April of this year, he received a notice from Beijing Palace Medical Research Association, where it’s proposed to establish some famous veteran TCM master thought branches. Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch is the first branch to be established. At the beginning of May, the preparatory group for the meeting was set up, and a preparatory meeting was held, where the Constitution of the branch was preliminarily drafted, and the candidates for president and vice presidents, and secretary-general of the branch were selected, and the specific time and place of the establishment of the branch were determined. After the approval by Beijing Palace Medical Research Association, the Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association was officially established. After two rounds of meeting notice, registration receipts were obtained from nearly 100 peers, including many well-known academic experts. With the concerted efforts of all members of the preparatory group, various preparations for the establishment of the Branch were already completed after two months of careful work.

At First, the opening meeting of the Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch of the Beijing Palace Medical Research Association was held, which was chaired by Wen Yuan President of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association.
Traditional Chinese medicine is an important part of China's excellent traditional culture, which serves as the key to opening the treasure house of Chinese civilization. It is the responsibility and mission of each TCM practitioner to inherit and carry forward the TCM cause. The inheritance of academic thoughts is the main form of studying TCM, especially the summarization of academic thoughts of well-known TCM experts for the purpose of inheritance and promotion is of great significance to the development of TCM. In order to further excavate, organize and summarize the academic thoughts of Professor Guo Weiqin as a famous veteran TCM master and outstanding cardiovascular disease expert, and to further inherit and promote her academic thoughts, with the approval by Beijing Palace Medical Research Association, the opening meeting of Guo Weiqin Academic Thought Research Branch of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association & the first Guo Weiqin academic thought seminar was held at the Beijing Yizhentang Clinic on June 23, 2019. It’s attended by Professor Guo Weiqin, a famous national cardiovascular disease expert and outstanding TCM master, Wen Yuan President of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association, Xu Yanlong Deputy President of Beijing Palace Medical Research Association, Liu Huaxuan from the Science and Education Division of Beijing Municipal Administration of TCM, Wang Wei Vice President of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Wang Xian President of Dongzhimen Hospital BUCM, Lin Qian Deputy President of Dongzhimen Hospital BUCM, Ai Juanjuan Head of the Education Division of Dongzhimen Hospital, Chen Lixin Secretary-General of World Federation Of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), backbone members of Guo Weiqin TCM Thought Inheritance Workstation and other participating representatives, with a total of nearly 100 participants.
