The Eastern Area of the Dongzhimen Hospital, owned by the whole people, has become a first-class hospital of traditional Chinese medicine over the past 30 years, which at first was an ambulant clinic, and after the grade assessment ,relocation and renaming(from the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Beijing County of Tong to Eastern Area of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine) as well as the improving of the construction of the disciplines and the capacity of the treatment, it turned into an outstanding one containing medical treatment, teaching, research, and the preventive health care all together.
The hospital marked its 30th anniversary on 18th December 2015, and the former leadership of the hospital including Wang Ke, Wang Baoyu, Wang Jixian, Dong Rongfen, Chen Changchun mingled with some of the retirees, the current leadership, all the directors and staff representatives so as to celebrate this glorious hour.
The cultural wall on the eastern side of the hall and the large-scale advertising video play a significant role in reminding people’s memory, achievements as well as the future wishes. What’s more, speeches, congratulations also crowded in, enabling people to marvel at the past years and stories.
The memory for growing up, the words for gratitude
The conference began with the speech of Mr. Zhang Minghai, the secretary of the party committee and the head of the hospital. First of all, Mr. Zhang accorded a hearty welcome to the attendants and expressed his sincere thanks as well. In the next place, he gave the audience a detailed account of the changes and moments which he was extremely familiar with. Since the Clinic of the Traditional Medicine officially opened up, generations of workers have gone through countless hardship but they all held on to the last. In 1998, the area of wards were reestablished; in 1996, the hospital was promoted to the second class of all the hospitals; in 2004, a new address began to be built; in 2010, the hospital was relocated; in 2011, a new partner hospital was found; in 2012, the reputation of becoming one of the first-class was to be approved; in 2013, it started building the second construction; in 2015, the second part was completed. The hospital has been increasingly improved from medical treatment, the nursing service, the teaching and research to the management of the whole hospital, talents training as well as the hospital culture.
The speech of Mr. Zhang was filled with gratitude towards all of the ones who have dedicated themselves to the hospital including the superior organization, friends from all fields, senior leadership, experts and all the staffs in the hospital, which was so splendid that many of the leadership and retirees nodded their applaud for they were also impressed by the stories in the past era. In addition, the younger generation can also be benefited from the glory days by inheriting their fine traditions.
Witnessing the achievements and looking forward together
Mr. Wang Baoyu, the secretary of the party committee and the head of the hospital, also delivered a speech to the conference. To begin with, he felt excited for those retirees’ returning home, thus leading people to recall the tough years at early stage. Having witnessed so many achievements, Mr. Wang spoke highly of the spirit of forging ahead by the current leadership and the spirit of dedication by the whole staff. Meanwhile, on behalf of all the retirees, he pledged to exert every effort to this great cause.
Such accomplishment gives employees who are on or off duties, or even those who have left the opportunity to benefit from it. Chen Changchun, the deputy director of Tongzhou District Health Planning Commission, former vice president of Beijing Tongzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, came to celebrate this event in person and delivered an exciting speech to the conference which conveyed his belief that since we have done such well, we are bound to create new brilliance so long as the whole staff continue to make endeavor.
Furthermore, many retired staff or leaders sent their congratulations to the conference. The reading of those letters was filled with applause in virtue of the boundless love and praise by those senior medical exports. Subsequently, the conference exhibited the calligraphy by Wang Ke and Wang Yongjiang, the former leaders, whose hopes for the hospital were pinned on the great work.
Later, the participants attentively watched the large-scale promoting video Inheritance and Innovation Create a New Tongzhou. Many of them could not help whispering excitedly, recalling the tough years and praising the current achievements.
It is widely agreed that talents play the most important role in the development of the hospital. In order to further back up the nursing of the talents, the hospital launched the first talent training project, which is “the green shoot” “the ridge” as well as “the peak”. What’s more, they have issued certificates to 9 selected personnel. One of the members of “the peak”, Mr. Yao Chengli ,made an address to the conference, expressing their commitment to the medical career so long as to further promote the construction of the discipline and live up to the ardent hope of the hospital.
With historical responsibility and love, the glory will go on
Mr. Wang Yaoxian, the president of the Two Districts of the Dongzhimen Hospital, delivered an important speech on this special day. To begin with, he applauded the cooperation of the two districts, which has achieved win-wins between staff, patients, government and the whole industry. As we can see, the scale of the hospital, the feature of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the comprehensive capacity, personnel training, as well as the construction of the disciplines have all improved, which can be proved by three data. Firstly, the number of the hospitalized patients exceeded 10 thousand. Secondly, workers here are paid more than 100 thousand a year. Thirdly, over 1 million people seek help from the clinic of the hospital. At the same time, he expressed a new topic from the superior government, that under the circumstance of cooperation, the hospital shall focus more on the eastern district. Along with the topic, Mr. Wang assigned the following four tasks. First of all are three follows, namely the development of the hospital has to follow the collaborative development of the area represented by Beijing, Tian Jin and He Bei province, follow the big adjustment centered by the capital Beijing ,and follow the need of building a sub center of the county of Tong. Secondly, there have to be three benefits: the cooperation has to benefit the patients, the staff and the hospital. Thirdly, the hospital should obey“three integration”, which is the integration of hospitals, the integration of the disciplines and the integration of the staff. Fourthly, there have to be “three unified”. They are the unified legal person, the unified leadership, and the unified resources such as human, fiscal and material resources.
Mr. Wang pointed out that the headquarters need to be located in the County of Tong, assuming the majority of the medical research. And the other part of the hospital bears the inheritance of the veteran doctor and the international cultural exchange. Along with the process of the sub center of Beijing and the integration of the area of Beijing ,Tian Jin and He Bei province, our hospital will forge new glory with a new attitude and a higher standard of the medical service, as well as the benevolent spirit of the doctors.
