On the morning of September 29, Xinyuan Hospital Cardiovascular Center held the free medical consultation activity for 2017 World Heart Day. As Deputy Executive Director of Cardiovascular Disease Center and Director of No. 1 Cardiovascular Department, Professor Xu Hao firstly introduced the general situation and special advantages of the Cardiovascular Disease Center and made a wonderful popular science lecture entitled with "Frequently Asked Questions and Misunderstandings in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment", which focuses on the reasons for taking lipid-lowering drugs in the case of normal blood lipid test results, whether statins does harm to "liver", whether atherosclerotic plaques can disappear, whether the normal ECG in the physical examination indicates no matter with heart, whether the ordinary hemadostenosis can be ignored, whether it’s necessary to take aspirin, what the common medication taboos are, and other problems which patients are very concerned about or common clinical misunderstandings. He explained the profound theories in simple language to have the attendants easily understand his lecture, thus receiving a close attention and a warm welcome from the numerous patients present at the site. After the lecture, Xu Hao, together with Xue Mei Deputy Chief Physician of Cardiovascular Center and Yu Jiang from No. 2 Cardiovascular Department, conducted a free clinic consultation activity. They carefully listened to the patients and explained their questions. Hu Xiaomei a co-chief superintendent nurse, and Yang Lili a senior nurse of No.1 Department in the Cardiology Center, made the health education on the TCM characteristic treatment and life taboos of the cardiovascular disease, and also conducted the auricular point pressing with beans for the patients at the site, receiving a warm welcome by the patients. As a postgraduate student of Cardiovascular Center, Zhang Yan, Lai Runmin and Sun Jinghui organized patients to make consultations in an orderly manner and also distributed the health education materials and medicines, which provides convenience and guidance for patients in their follow-up treatment.
