Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Successfully Held the "Integrative Medicine Treatment of Diabetes-related Eye Disease" Training Course under the Municipal-level TCM Continuing Education Project
With the Yin deficiency and dryness-heat as the basic pathogenesis, diabetes is mainly caused by lack of innate endowment, emotional disorder, improper diet and others, of which the main clinical manifestations are “Three Duo and One Shao (eat more, drink more and urinate more, but become thinner)”. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the serious complications. The incidence of diabetic retinopathy has been increasing year by year. In order to further improve the medical diagnosis and treatment level of medical personnel at the district, from September 23 to 24, 2017, the ophthalmology department under Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine held the "Integrative Medicine Treatment of Diabetes-related Eye Disease" Training Course under the Municipal-level TCM Continuing Education Project, where several well-known domestic ophthalmology experts were specially invited to give some guidance on integrative medicine-based clinical treatment of diabetes-related eye diseases.
The speakers of the training course came from Beijing Tongren Hospital, Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital, Beijing Hospital and many other well-known hospitals. More than 100 medical workers from second and third-grade medical institutions in Beijing took part in the training course. Ye Hong, Director of the Ophthalmology Department of Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, delivered an opening speech. She thanked everyone for their participation in this training course in their busy work schedules. The training course is marked with rich, practical and cutting-edge medical content. The hope is that all participants can make positive statements and give valuable opinions. Finally, I wish this training course a complete success.
The training course stands on the idea of TCM clinic diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmology, focusing on the prevention and treatment of diabetes mellitus, the perioperative management of ophthalmology for elderly patients, the application of anti-V-EGF in diabetic retinopathy, the progress in treatment of central retinal artery occlusion; the integrative medicine prevention and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, and the sharing of the experience in laser treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The training course is characterized with novel content, the combination of theory with clinical practice, and is like a feat of medical ideas to offer listeners!
Qiu Lixin from Tongren Hospital deeply interpreted the ophthalmopathy from a different perspective in plain language and introduced the knowledge on TCM treatment of ophthalmological diseases, which allowed us to have a new understanding of TCM clinical diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Then, Hu Yuntao from Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital made the detailed and vivid explanations for the prevention and treatment of diabetic blindness prevention and treatment. Following him, Liu Guangfeng gave us great inspirations by using his novel views and rich content, and making close combination with the actual situations. After this, with the pragmatic content and the close combination of theory with practice, Chen Jianhua explained the perioperative ophthalmic management for elderly patients.
Subsequently, Gu Wei talked about the application of anti-V-EGF in the diabetic retinopathy, and explained the profound theories in simple language so that the participants could benefit a lot from it. Qu Yuanzhen and Duan Huiyi respectively discussed the progress in the treatment of central retinal artery occlusion, and indicated that a small factor can result in diabetic retinopathy. Yu Xiaobing made clear the principles of the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, which provides better guidance for clinical treatment services. Wei Dong gave a vivid explanation for the integrative medicine prevention and treatment of diabetic retinopathy.
The training course was held very successfully. During the lectures, all the guests were positive to speak, creating a harmonious and active atmosphere. It’s characterized with the stress on the Chinese and the Western medicine, rich and colorful content, vivid and thorough explanations, and the close combination of theory with reality. Through the academic lectures and exchanges, all the participants exchanged academic ideas with each other, broadened their horizons, and gained friendship. At the same time, it also promoted the sustainable development of the key specialist discipline of ophthalmology under Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, improved its clinical service capability, played an exemplary and guiding role in raising the ophthalmic construction level, enabled the majority of peers to have in-depth understanding of Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, and played a propaganda and promotion role in this regard.
