Recently, good news came from the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dong Zhizhi, a deputy chief physician of Huairou District Hospital of TCM, was identified as one of the the sixth batch of successors of national old TCM experts’ academic experience.

　　According to the Implementation Plan of ‘One Million’ Talent Project (Qi Huang Project) "Inheriting and Innovating Traditional Chinese Medicine", the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine organized the sixth batch of inheritance of academic experience of old TCM experts this year. After the selection of competent TCM authorities in various provinces and cities and the review by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dong Zhizhi, a deputy chief physician of Huairou District TCM Hospital, was fortunate to become an academic successor of the Professor Gao Li, a national outstanding TCM expert from the department of neurology of Xuanwu Hospital in Beijing.

　　Professor Gao Li is a well-known expert in the department of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in neurology. He is good at treating cerebrovascular diseases and neurological incurable diseases by using the method of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. Over the next three years, Dong Zhizhi will study under the guidance of Professor Gao Li, thoroughly read the classical Chinese medical writings such as The Canon of Internal Medicine, Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Synopsis of Golden Chambe and Doctrine of Epidemic Febrile Diseases, mainly make independent clinical practice, complete the medical records on clinic operations and stubborn diseases which can embody the academic ideas and clinical experience of the instructor and reflect the entire process of disease diagnosis and treatment, inherit the academic ideas, clinical experience and technical expertise of the instructor in a comprehensive and systematic manner, and grasp the academic experience of other famous old TCM experts in the relevant professional field to improve his own professional skills, thus ultimately growing to be a medical practitioner with both good ability and political integrity.
