It is understood that in 2014, Shijingshan District, taking the TCM culture entering into schools as a carrier, identified 17 project schools and launched a TCM innovation talent training project. The project was carried out through the development of the school-based curriculum of TCM culture, the cultivation and identification of Chinese herbal medicines, and the practice of TCM disciplines in the project. The project explored new ways to inherit and promote excellent traditional culture and develop innovative talents among primary and secondary school students.

TCM entering into schools has been carried out for four years in our school. This project has been integrated with our curriculum.” According to Qi Wei, Vice President of Jingshan School Yuanyang Branch, the program is integrated in the national, local and school-based curriculum of the school. They also created their own way for practice. In the process of the project, the primary school students can first learn Chinese herbal medicine by the courses combining science and art courses with national curriculum. The junior high school section is combined with the calligraphy class and the couplet culture course to let the students deeply understand the TCM. The middle school section allows children with special interests to be able to show themselves through theme elective courses. In the future, the school will rely on the TCM Research Institute, the TCM Ophthalmology Research Hospital and other resource units, so that students can seek practice in those units on the basis of their own research. They can also get guidance and help of professionals. This will promote students' practice and cognitive ability.
