1st Grassroots TCM Literacy Contest Held in Beijing to Spread TCM Culture and Promote TCM Healthcare Technique
  

    

  

  On June 21st, the 1st Grassroots TCM Literacy Contest was concluded in Beijing, there were 180-plus personages from 42 community healthcare service centers, representatives from the community residents (villagers) committee where the contestants were listed in the final and hospital directly affiliated to the district and Chaoyang District TCM Society members and contestants.

  Contestant Wang Lizhen from Guanzhuang No.2 community healthcare service center, and Xiao Zhongren recommended by Xiaohongmen Community Healthcare Service Center were awarded with No.1 prizes. There were 81 quarter-final contestants awarded with excellent prize for the 1st Grassroots TCM Literacy Contest and granted with title of Chaoyang District Grassroots TCM Culture Publicist.

  

   

  

  The healthcare excercise final demostration units (Chaowai, Balizhuang and Changying) were awarded with the Excellent Prize for 1st Grassroots TCM Literacy Contest healthcare excercise demostration.

  Contest uniqueness

  The contest, unprecedentedly, followed the fashion of physician tutorship (most of the physicians were Chaoyang District TCM culture publicists or TCM inheritors)+citizen contestants (contestant aging from 51 to 77 without medical background). We circulated the contest test library in advance, each community along with the residents (villagers) committee selected 461 contestants, who underwent training by tutors, initial contest within a community, quarter-final within the district till the successful conclusion of the final today lasting for one month. The TCM culture atmosphere focusing on loving and using TCM had taken shape, and the grassroots’ literacy on TCM was greatly enhanced.

  Chaoyang District Health and Family Planning Commission Deputy Party Secretary Chen Kaihong pointed out that the 1st Grassroots TCM Literacy Contest tested the work level of each community health service center, and strengthened the mobilization and coordination capability of the TCM culture publicists, attaining the end of spreading TCM culture, promoting the TCM healthcare technique, and creating the atmosphere of learning and using TCM among grassroots.
