Abstract:

　　The training for TCM nurses for elders ’ Healthcare sponsored by the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine was launched recently, wherein there were 800 trainees to be trained in batches. The qualified trainees would be granted with the training certificates for medical assistant nurses (TCM nurses for elders) by the Education And Training Center of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

　　 Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Director Tu Zhitao introduced that it was the first time to launch hte training class for TCM nurses for elders in Beijing and China at large. After investigation by the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it was found that there was prevelent demand for the majority families especially the group of elders to pursue the TCM elders’ healthcare. To build a qualified team capable of TCM elders’ healthcare, the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine determined to launch the training for TCM nurses for elders’ healthcare. A qualified TCM nurse for elders’ healthcare should embrace “5+1” functions as follows: certain TCM care knowledge and capability, and act as the family health operator, nurse, collector, publicizer and contacter all together. It was understood that the attending trainees were from the forefront nurses with TCM and nursing licenses from the TCM hospitals and community health care service centers in Beijing.
