On July 23rd, the delegation of Changping Hospital of TCM went to the herbal valley of Thirteen Ming Tombs, entertained the faculty and students as well as TCM fans from Denmark TCM culture summer camp, and identified the outdoor medicinal plants together.
As a result of the continuous moist, the medicinal plants thrived. The Rhizoma Dioscoreae Nipponicae and Menispermum dauricum crawled everywhere of the rocks. Sealwort and leonurus stood proudly. The flowers bursted into bloom, full of green in the eyes. The Denmark faculty and students bubbled over with enthusiasm and laughters. The Pharmaceutical Department of Changping Hospital of TCM Director Liu Jianhua introduced about such medicinal plants as platycodon grandiflorum, peony and sealwort etc. expounded on their growing environment, medicinal parts and efficacy and functions. Thanks to the precise translation of the interpreter, the Denmark friends listened with keen pleasure and nodded for affirmation.
The Pharmacist Liu Tong introduced about the original plant of kudzu, hawthorn, vitex and plantain herb and the like herbs with simple language along with body movement, enabling hte translator to interprete more vividly. When talking about kudzu, he patted his neck and back to indicate that the root of kudzu vine could relieve the symptom of aching neck and back, making the students undersand it at a glance, and keeping the herb and its functions in their mind.
It is necessary to develop TCM culture to build Healthy China, uphold traditional culture, enhance cultural self-confidence and raise the sense of national pride. As TCM insiders, on the road of growing TCM cause, we should keep enhancing ourselves’ awareness and identification capacity, and enable more TCM fans to know, understand, experience TCM, spread the TCM culture knowledge and strengthen the root of inheriting TCM.
