Executive Vice President Zhang Yunling said that Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Healthy Village (Community) is an important public project of the Beijing Municipal Government aimed at improving the health of residents in rural and grassroots communities. The leaders of Xiyuan Hospital attached great importance to the establishment of a long-term cooperation model on the experts and technology sinking, scientific research cooperation of brain disease team with grassroots medical institutions. Through transmission, helping and bringing, a grassroots medical team that stays and does not leave was built. The medical team allowed the people to receive a high level of medical care at their doorstep. Through the activities in the future, the encephalopathy team vigorously carried out the screening and prevention of stroke and in-depth publicity on the prevention of stroke. At the same time, it promoted the healthy lifestyle to the people which can really benefit them.
Deputy Executive President Zhang Yunling gave a key introduction to the progress of TCM prevention and treatment of stroke. He emphasized that Chinese medicine has an indispensable role in the prevention and treatment of stroke. Stroke management should focus on the full participation of Chinese medicine doctors. He introduced the role of Chinese medicine in stroke management from three aspects of stroke high-risk screening, acute stroke treatment, and post-stroke rehabilitation. Before the stroke, it is advised to take preventive treatment. In acute stroke period, it is suggested to flexibly use the theory of " toxin damaging brain collaterals". After the stroke, Chinese medicine can actively participate. That is to set up a "three-level target group", carry out community science education, establish self-identification tools, and teach the people to self-discover. People with early screening of high-risk of cognitive impairment are classified as the "first-level target population". "Early discovery" can be achieved in this group. Combined with professional examination, early diagnosis of cognitive impairment patients can establish the "second-level target population". Standardized research on TCM syndromes and a common syndrome type scoring standard can achieve "early diagnosis". Selecting appropriate cognitive impairment patients can establish a "three-level target population". Implementing a TCM-specific health promotion program in the community to verify the effect of integration of TCM with drug intervention and health promotion ensures that “early treatment” is achieved.
On the other hand, it is hoped that through the joint efforts of team members, the cultivation of community and rural professionals will be strengthened, and stroke prevention and TCM health promotion programs will be promoted in communities and villages.

After the brief opening ceremony, experts of Xiyuan Hospital and leaders and experts from Changping District and Nankou Town held a symposium on the theme of developing Chinese medicine and helping the healthy development of grassroots Chinese medicine. The cooperation between Encephalopathy Department of Xiyuan Hospital and Changping Hospital of TCM and Nankou Health Service Center was further strengthened, promoting the implementation and promotion of the stroke screening program of National Health Care Committee. In the event, Deputy Director Yu Zhen, Deputy Director Yang Jie, and Executive Vice President Zhang Yunling led a team to visit Liu Yujie, a villager with inconvenient mobility. She is a 34-year-old female patient who have been cared about. She has diabetes at the age of 18 due to poor control of blood sugar, which now lead to hyperkalemia, palpitation, renal insufficiency, fatigue, shortness of breath and so on. After measuring the blood pressure, president Zhang integrated Liu Yujie's previous examination results, and prescribed a Chinese medicine prescription for her to regulate her body, acupuncture points for activating blood circulation, etc. The team not only sent her professional medical services, but also gave her strong psychological support to help her regain confidence and courage in a healthy and better life.
