The founding assembly of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine Specialized Committee of the Aged Eye Disease cum 1st Forum on Aged Eye Disease was successfully convened in the conference hall of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine on May 18, 2019. The event was attended by the following leaders: Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine President Zhao Jing, Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Vice President Luo Zenggang, and departmental director Wang Huiling of Science and Education Office, Contemporary Chinese Medicine Research Institute Vice President Shi Huabin, and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Eye Hospital President Gao Yun, wherein China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Eye Hospital Chief Physician Feng Jun was elected as the first Chairman of Specialized Committee of the Aged Eye Disease.

　　Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine Vice President Luo Zenggang expressed congratulations to the creation of the Specialized Committee of the Aged Eye Disease, hoped the committee to well position itself under the leadership of the Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine, vigorously launch the academic exchange on the aged eye diseases, promote the research and diagnosis technology on the aged eye diseases in Beijing, make good use of the clinical thought and experience of the senior experts, and work hard at inheriting the experience from the senior experts. Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine President Zhao Jing highlighted the committee shall center on the aged eye diseases while focusing on the TCM eye science, and join hands with the experts in following departments to launch academic exchange: west medicine eye, aged diseases, internal secretion, cardiovascular diseases, kidney disease, molecular medicine and pharmacology, expand the diagnosis approaches on treating the aged eye diseases. Apart from the Ophthalmology Specialized Committee, it could launch academic exchange with other specialized committees, so as to build itself into an interdisciplinary committee with distinct uniqueness.

　　Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine Specialized Committee of the Aged Eye Disease was affiliated to the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Eye Hospital, whose President Gao Yun delivered a speech, expressing congratulations to the founding of committee, affirmed the new thought and modeling on pioneering TCM innovative development from the perspective of the social growth. As a supporter for the specialized committee, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Eye Hospital takes a lead home and abroad in terms of the treatment, scientific research, education, inheritance and technical service of the eye diseases and other major diseases via TCM and combining TCM and western medicine. It will integrate the wisdom and strength of multiple disciplines and experts of different fields on the platform of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine Specialized Committee of the Aged Eye Disease, bringing the prevention and treatment of the aged eye diseases to a new stage.

　　After the founding conference, the first forum on the aged eye diseases was launched as well, wherein there were nearly 20 famous doctors attending the academic exchange on the aged eye diseases.
