On May 29th when the 11th International Thyroid Awareness Week was coming, in order to popularize knowledge of public health, Ximen Branch of Fangshan Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine combined with its mobile hospital formed an expert team to walk into Haiyibandao Community in Liangxiang, and conducted health promotion and free clinic for residents there.
The activity featured a strong lineup. Senior herbalist doctor from Fangshan District, experts having worked in the Red Mobile Hospital in the grass roots for a long time, and technical elites of endocrinology department in Ximen Branch jointly conducted free clinic and detection of blood pressure and blood sugar for community residents and other TCM services. They also popularize knowledge of public health from the perspective of daily life to reduce the incidence of diabetes, obesity and other chronic diseases.
Mei Xiaohu from Ximen Branch also performed the Baduanjin health maintenance exercise impromptu, and taught the residents basic movements on spot. Warm interaction, touching friendship.
Deputy chief physician Shi Yanping made a speech about osteoporosis, making more people understand more about osteoporosis. She taught residents how to identify osteoporosis itself, early detect and prevent it so that they could ensure bone health and improve quality of life.
Each expert was careful for and patient to the questions of each resident one by one from life, prescription drugs to self-care, and provided diagnosis and treatment for them.
