Beijing Hepingli Hospital Launches Biosafety Emergency Exercise
In order to better strengthen the hospital's clinical biosafety management and improve the staff's ability to deal with biosafety emergencies, on the afternoon of September 17, 2019, Beijing Hepingli Hospital conducted a clinical laboratory biosafety emergency drill. Party Secretary Dong Liu, Vice President Wu Chunjun, Scientific Research and Teaching Department, Hospital Infection-control Department, Medical Department, Clinical Laboratory Department, Logistics Department and other relevant personnel participated in the drill.
The drill simulated that the hands of the inspector were injured by glass residue on the tabletop in the operation room for AIDS screening during the operation. The gloves were broken, and skin was damaged. The AIDS screening laboratory is an indispensable department of the hospital. The drill inspected the emergency handling capacity of Hospital Infection-control Department, Medical Department, Clinical Laboratory Department, Logistics Department and cleaning staff in accordance with the Beijing Hepingli Hospital Laboratory Emergency System and Plan, and checked the staff of the Microbiology Laboratory's mastery of emergency handling principles and the implementation efficiency of emergency plans in the event of biological hazards.
The safety awareness of everyone was effectively improved through this drill. In the actual work, the standard operating procedures shall be implemented strictly, the rules and regulations and the biosafety working rules shall be strictly observed and strictly prevent the occurrence of biosafety accidents, ensuring the safety of the hospital environment, medical personnel and patients.
