In the morning, Researcher Liu Jianxun, the Chief Scientist of the Project introduced the participating guests, they are Professor Li Zhenji——Director of the Office of the World TCM Association,Professor He Xingdong, Director Qiu Yuefu of Science and Technology Division of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Xu Chunbo——Secretary General of the 973 Plan Office, Professor Xiao Luwei of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Professor Lv Youyong of Peking University Cancer Hospital, Researcher Shi Dazhuo of Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS, Professor Pan Guijuan——Bioinformatics Expert of Tsinghua University. Researcher Liu Jianxun made a comprehensive report on the implementation situation of the 973 Plan Projects in 2015, and then the sub-project principals made summary report in detail respectively. The experts group spoke highly of what had been achieved in 2015 and put forward corresponding suggestions on the process and management of each project. They suggested that the project team shall carry out their work further around the key scientific questions and combine the clinical result and experience, in order to achieve new treatment methods and concepts on the basis of the TCM treatment theory. It is hoped that new TCM theoretic judgement would be raised and achievements be made in TCM theory. More than 30 researchers of the project team participated in the discussion.

    In the afternoon, Chief Researcher Liu Jianxun organized a discussion about the ideas and suggestions raised by the experts in the morning and made detailed arrangement about the management and plan of the project. Then, Professor Wang Shouren and Professor Lu Fang gave reports on themes of Blood and Energy Studies and Management and Training of clinical data base respectively.
