Youth and children are the motherland's future and the nation's hope. In recent years, poisoning incidents of children have occurred frequently, of which more than half of children’s poisoning incidents are caused by drugs. Therefore, the drug poisoning of children is a global public health problem. In order to popularize safe drug use knowledge among primary school students, raise their awareness of safe and rational drug use, and promote the whole society to pay attention to the problem of safe and rational drug use among children and young people, Changping District Hospital of Integrative Medicine went to the primary schools, sending the drug use knowledge to the classrooms.

　　On the afternoon of November 9, 2016, Liu Lili and Ying Ying pharmacist of Outpatient Pharmacy Changli District Hospital of Integrative Medicine came to Huoying Primary School of Changping District, popularizing proper drug use knowledge to the pupils of Class 5 Grade 3. They made presentations from the three aspects: first, make clear the concepts of pharmacists, pharmacies and drugs so that the pupils can understand the pharmacists' specific work content, pharmacy’s functions and drug display, and the concept of drugs; secondly, in terms of drug safety. make the children understand that drugs are a "double-edged sword", and improper use of drugs may lead to drug poisoning and even death; thirdly, teach the children how to read drug packaging and instructions. Recognize the labeling of drug packaging, distinguish between prescription drugs and non-prescription drugs and between commercial names and common names, and read the instructions and adequately understand their content. In classroom, the children listened attentively, talked enthusiastically about the questions raised, and actively participated in the interactive activities, thus resulting in the lively class discussion.

　　A short period of forty-five minutes lapsed quickly. Both the pharmacists and the children had not given the full expression of their views and ideas. However, not only the children mastered a lot of knowledge of proper drug use, but pharmacists once again felt a sense of their professional mission and sacredness in the popularization process of proper drug use knowledge. Finally, they hoped that more children have access to the knowledge of safe and rational drug use so that every child can achieve healthy and happy growth in the sunlight!
