On Oct 17, 2016, Nursing Department of Xiyuan Hospital successfully completed their TCM nursing experience service task of “Training Class on TCM Health Care Culture for Asian Member States of Shanghai Cooperation Organization”. As key TCM nursing specialty cultivation project of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of PRC, National TCM nursing backbones training base, and clinical training base for Beijing TCM nursing backbones training project, Xiyuan Hospital’s nursing department has, over the years, trained a number of key talents of TCM nursing who are armed with rich theory and skills of TCM nursing. In order to fulfill the task successfully, the department carefully selected 15 TCM nursing backbones to form a strong team to receive the 15 officials from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Nepal. They have excellently completed teaching task on TCM nursing theory and service task on TCM featured nursing technique experience, and successfully marched forward toward internationalization of TCM nursing.
Huang Yanping, Head Nurse with Department of Spleen and Stomach Diseases, and Hu Xiaomei, nurse with Cardiovascular Department, gave special lessons on TCM nursing technical projects like general treatment techniques of “auricular point pressing with bean”, “moxibustion therapy”, “cupping therapy” etc.
To fully allow the foreign friends to experience TCM nursing technique features of “simple, convenient, cheap, and effective”, nursing department arranged an experience and observe activity in the afternoon, during which 15 TCM nursing backbones who have received TCM nursing skill standardized training, carried out the activity for the foreign guests. TCM nursing techniques like “auricular point pressing with bean”, “warm moxibustion scraping”, “cupping”, and “massage along meridians” were demonstrated. The 15 guests experienced the techniques one by one, and unanimously said that the TCM nursing features of “people oriented”, and “act according to different people, time and location” made them would like to list TCM nursing into their medical care choice. The smoothly-held TCM nursing experience activity brings about both opportunity and challenge for TCM nursing going out of China and going to the world. TCM nursing team building, technical innovation and theory mining will become driving forces for Xiyuan nursing staff to develop TCM nursing and promote TCM nursing to become the world’s basic medical care project. We will continue to work hard to move forward!
