——Beijing Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine held a kidney patient club meeting on "focusing on kidney health and improving the quality of life".
Since it established a hemodialysis room in 2007, Beijing Changping District Hospital of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine has passed the annual Beijing hemodialysis quality control inspection with excellent results every year, of which the dialysis room was recognized as an inspection exemption unit in 2016. At present, the hospital has 30 dialysis beds, and more than 100 regular dialysis patients. The nephrology deptartment director Liu Shiying is a doctor with high work enthusiasm and an old Party member treating patients like friends and relatives. Since the establishment of the dialysis room, she has led her team to busy themselves with improving the quality of life of kidney patients every day.
Before the lunar new year, there was the kidney patient club meeting on "focusing on kidney health and improving the quality of life" at the kidney department teaching room, where a burst of laughter was heard from time to time. As Director of Nephrology Department, Liu Shiying took all the medical staff to give their new year’s blessings to the majority of patients, and wished the kidney friends and their families a happy new year, and sent "red envelopes" to the patients and their families present at the spot, thus making them feel the staff’s heartfelt blessings!
As a kidney patient, Aunt Xiu also paid a new year’s call to the medical staff on behalf of the variety of the patients. She said that the doctors and the nurses of Changping District Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine are not relatives of the patients but treat them like their relatives. She extended thanks to the nephrology department for their careful treatment. In addition, Aunt Fan as a representative of the family members of patients also spoke highly of the superb medical skills and medical ethics of the doctors and the nurses, and also expressed thanks to the nephrology department for its humanized patient management system.
Dialysis room nurse Zhao Yaqi offered the popular science education for the majority of patients and their families on the hemodialysis technology, focusing on the indications and advantages of the hemoperfusion technique; as an organization member of the internal medicine department Party branch, the kidney physician Zhao Jingxin introduced the working mechanism and application notes of the commonly used drugs of hemodialysis, the hemoglobin control requirements and hazards of dialysis patients, and the indications and precautions of several commonly used drugs, which was highly praised by the patients.
Finally, all the medical staff of the Nephrology Department gave the patients new gifts: such as, pressure pulse belts, salt spoons and popular science materials, and also expressed that they would strive to learn more specialist knowledge, improve the service standards and endeavor to reduce patients’ suffering, enhance patients’ quality of life and serve patients in good faith, thereby making the hemodialysis room becoming a home of kidney patients. In this way, "kidney patient club" may set up a heart bridge between doctors and patients.
