-Tongzhou HFPC Promoted Elders’ TCM Healthcare Program

　　Tongzhou Health and Family Planning Commission (Tongzhou HFPC) invited Ge Fenglin to Tongzhou to make technical guidance and academic exchange on Dec 9th. Ge Fenglin is the 4th generation inheritor for Ge’s Muscle Pat Therapy-World Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Director with Orthopaedics Department of Beijing Shijitan Hospital CMU. The exchange aimed to further promoting the launch of elders’ TCM healthcare pilot, and vigorously enhancing the technical service level of the pilot TCM hospitals, community health service centers and gerocomiums in Tongzhou District.

　　At the morning, Director Ge made live demo and guidance for the learners from Dongzhimen Hospital (Eastern Area). At the afternoon, Director Ge went to the gerocomium in Liyuan Town, introducing and demonstrating the Ge’s Muscle Pat Therapy for the elders, gerocomium’s nurses, medical doctors and nurses from the community service center/station.

　　The city-level TCM experts entered into the primary level, hospital, community and gerocomium to offer technical guidance, which was one innovative step initiated by Tongzhou Health and Family Planning Commission for effective elders’ TCM healthcare by virtue of the premium resource in the city in the context of Tongzhou District actuality, thanks to the uniform arrangement by Beijing Administration of TCM. Explore the functional merits of setting community health service station in gerocomium, and put the policy in due place by virtue of the pilot. Thanks to the overall planning on the expenditure by Tongzhou Health and Family Planning Commission, the Ge’s Fitness Bat and pamphlet were given out on the spot. The people awareness on healthcare and preventive treatment of disease was enhanced, and the TCM merits on applicable technology service were reflected this way, such that the campaign was fairly popular among mass doctors, nurses and elders.

　　Beijing Elders’ TCM Healthcare Program is one of the programs to serve the people initiated by Beijing Municipal Government. With consideration to the policy and actual demand, Tongzhou Health and Family Planning Commission organized the training on applicable TCM technology in pilot hospital, built information-based platform in pilot community, TCM culture in pilot gerocomium, invited experts from TCM hospital alliance enter into community and  gerocomium to make healthcare education and offer regular medical service, made TCM health records, and launched TCM chronic disease management and TCM popular science propaganda etc. which aimed to perfecting the Elders’ TCM healthcare and benefiting the people in the district.
