The 9thTraining Course in Laparoscopic Surgery by Department of Hernia and Abdominal Wall of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital started on 30thJune. This course focuses on lasparoscopic surgery techniques for various types of hernia and complex hernia, including the repair of laparoscopic complex ostomy hernia (artificial materials), repair of huge incision hernia (artificial materials), complex abdominal wall resection and abdominal reconstruction techniques and laparoscopic complex inguinal hernia repair techniques. The training class attracts surgeons from Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Shan’xi, Dalian and other cities across the country to learn and exchange experience.
Surgical Department of our hospital holds the lead at home, especially in the field of tumor and various complex hernia repair. The leader of Department of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Professor Lu Yiping is a national famous surgical expert in tumor and abdominal wall. As the center of medical union, the Department of Hernia and Abdominal Wall of our hospital has undertaken the mission of training primary hospitals in the most advanced laparoscopic hernia repair techniques since the establishment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Jingu and Mongolian Surgery Committee in 2015. The current training course is the 9th. It is a high-level training class for the senior directors, which focuses on various types of difficult and complex abdominal hernia. The class also demonstrates a resection case of huge abdominal malignant tumor, and the abdominal reconstruction by using artificial materials. It makes a full display of the leading treatment concept of our hernia and abdominal wall surgery team, as well as superb surgical skills and fine management within perioperative period.
This training course includes theoretical introduction by Professor Lu Yiping, surgery watch and synchronized surgery live video watch, experts’ comments during surgeries and Q&A session on-site. It aims to improve trainees’ understanding of the surgery concept and their practical surgery skills in a targeted and efficient way. Department of Hernia and Abdominal Wall of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital will continue to forge ahead and consistently commit to the training in laparoscopic hernia repair technologies, to lead more surgeons to progress together to serve the patients.
