In order to carry forward the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture, popularize the knowledge of TCM, and promote the construction of TCM culture, Xihongmen Hospital in Daxing district of Beijing has built a TCM culture experience center that integrates the teaching and popularization of medicine, the reading of traditional Chinese medicine books, the experience of Chinese herbology rooms, and the experience of appropriate techniques of TCM.

　　In order to give full play to the service features of traditional Chinese medicine and let more people know the history and culture of TCM, a special activity was held in Xihongmen hospital in Daxing District of Beijing recently. More than 10 primary and middle school students were invited to visit the TCM culture experience center as the audience and experienced a magical journey of TCM culture.

　　This experience tour is divided into three parts: TCM knowledge lecture, sachets making and medicine garden visiting. In the lecture on Chinese medicine, the pharmacists in the pharmacy department introduced the appearance and taste of more than 30 kinds of common medicinal materials to the children in plain language, explaining their effects and eating methods, so that the children had a preliminary cognition and understanding of Chinese medicinal materials. Sachets making, according to the efficacy of various TCM, the children made all kinds of sachets to prevent epidemics under the guidance of the pharmacist, which not only cultivated hands-on skills, but also gained TCM knowledge. Under the guidance of the staff, the children visited the Chinese medicine garden and got to know many Chinese herbal plants.

　　Profound culture of Chinese medicine is an important part of Chinese traditional culture, the form of this activity is easy to accept, helpful for children to understand TCM knowledge and culture, and thus stimulating their interest in TCM culture, something received with recognition and praise from parents and children.
