Heroic deeds of Dr. Wang Chunhui's roadside rescue and hospital treatment in Fangshan Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine

1. Looking for him many times to express gratitude for his generous rescue

"Hello, I'm looking for Dr. Wang who saved my husband." "Excuse me, do you know what department Dr. Wang is in? A tall and thin, very energetic man." The Granny Bai in her 70s was wandering in the corridor of Xinglinyuan in Fangshan Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and asking everyone she met about the young man who saved her husband's life without leaving his name.

"Hello, what's the name of Dr. Wang who brought my father to the hospital? What department is he from? Thank him so much!" A young lady asked the author eagerly.

This mother and her daughter were looking for a person who was General Surgery Dr. Wang Chunhui, the Fangshan Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

2. A coincident and heroic rescue on the road

At 7:35 on the morning of May 13, an old man suddenly fainted when catching the bus anxiously at the exit B of Fangshan Chengguan subway station. He was lying on the ground with his head supported by his wife, who was in a state of anxiety.

Doctor Wang Chunhui who just came out of the subway station quickly ran forward, "I am a doctor, let me see." With his professional acumen, he put the old man on the ground and loosened his collar and belt. Because the weather was still a bit cold at that time, he put his left hand on the ground, leaving the old man's head resting on his hand. When touching the pulse of the old man with the right hand, the pulse rate was fast and uneven with mouth dribbling. Fortunately, he was still conscious and could answer questions. After simply enquiring the old couple, Wang learned that the old man had coronary heart disease and had an experience of transient syncope. "Have you brought the medicine along?" The granny had forgotten the medicine in her pocket due to great anxiety. After coming to her senses, she quickly took out the nitroglycerin tablets. Wang Chunhui helped put it under the old man's tongue.

A kind-hearted middle-aged woman on the roadside also came to help and dialed 120. Due to the urgent situation, they could not describe the exact address. Wang Chunhui answered the phone and confirmed the location with the ambulance. Immediately the ambulance arrived, Wang Chunhui and the doctors and nurses on the ambulance took the elderly to the emergency department of Fangshan Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

3. Open the green path for timely rescue

The ambulance hurried all the way to the hospital. Meanwhile, the emergency room was in store, and the medical workers on duty opened green channels for the patient: establishing venous access, oxygen inhalation, electrocardiographic monitoring, and doing all necessary examinations... The patient gradually came out of danger.

This series of seamlessly connected treatments was carried out under the principle of "saving lives first, then paying money". Due to the sudden onset of illness, the old couple did not bring their ID cards and medical insurance cards and were unable to register for treatment according to normal procedures. Thanks to the emergency green path, it opened a door to vitality for critical patients.

When the medical workers were busy rescuing the old man, Dr. Wang Chunhui quietly left and went to his job as usual.

4. The danger was turned into safety, patients were grateful to the rescuer

It turned out that the rescued old man's family name was Bai, in his 70s, and was diagnosed with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and other diseases. After being stable, he was admitted to the cardiovascular department for treatment.

The author learned about the news and met with Uncle Bai in the ward. He looked better and was very happy to see the author that he would have some information about his benefactor. He talked emotionally about the onset of the illness and being treated that day, and asked the author to convey his and his family's gratitude, sincerely thankful for Dr. Wang Chunhui, for the hospital to have trained such an excellent doctor, for the hospital's all-out treatment, and the unknown kind-hearted passers-by… Simple words were full of endless gratitude, many thanks could not express his deep gratitude.

The author couldn't help recording a video of the old man, conveying the old man's voice to Dr. Wang. It was my responsibility and my will to build a soul bridge between the patient and the benevolent healer, the thanks giver and the great righteous rescuer, the author said.
