The year 2020 is the final year for achieving the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the decisive year for winning the battle against poverty. To fully implement the philosophy and strategy of targeted poverty alleviation and elimination put forward by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and ensure that the battle against poverty will be successfully achieved, Guangwai Hospital attaches great importance to targeted poverty alleviation work, fully integrates and gives full play to the advantages of medical resources, having provided medical assistance to Yushu People's Hospital of Qinghai Province and Nangqian Tibetan Hospital of Qinghai Province. Its practical assistance, such as providing further education for the staff of Nangqian Tibetan Hospital, was recognized by local residents. According to the work requirements, the Guangwai Hospital and the Guangwai Community Health Service Center selected three key professionals to conduct poverty alleviation work in Zhangbei County of Hebei Province. On the afternoon of May 27, the Party Committee of Guangwai Hospital organized a farewell party for 2020 targeted poverty alleviation work in health care.
At the meeting, the head of the Medical Department conveyed relevant policies and notifications of targeted poverty alleviation in health care. Miao Hongshuang, a rehabilitation technician in the Rehabilitation Department, and Chen Xiaojuan, a chief physician in the Endocrinology Department, would be sent to the Rehabilitation Department of Zhangbei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for seven-month and 45-day work, respectively. Liu Yuhong, a general practitioner of Guangwai Community Service Center would go to two health centers in Youkugou Town and Tailugou Township to conduct 45-day counterpart assistance work, making contributions to the development of local medical and health services.
Hospital Director Liu Yunjun and other three colleagues who had experienced the targeted health poverty alleviation work, shared their experiences one by one. They truly brought the advanced medical technologies to the local hospitals, trained and transported talents for the development and construction of the local hospital, effectively improved the local medical level, and achieved the overall goal of accurate assistance. Moreover, they established a good friendship with the local hospital. They used plain words to offer valuable advice to the three comrades who would join the counterpart assistance work.
The three comrades who would take part in the work of counterpart assistance thanked their leaders' trust and said, they would overcome difficulties, actively cooperate with the local health department and the medical institutions to conduct each work mission, bring advanced medical technologies to the local people with their professional advantages. Under the guide of hospital culture and spirit, they would devote themselves, bear the entrust in mind and fulfill their commitment. Through practical actions for the people of Zhangbei county, they would contribute to relieving the pain of local people. With the high sense of responsibility and mission, they would live up to the organization's ardent expectations and successfully complete the task.
The Leader of the Guangwai Hospital and the Guangwai Community Health Service Center thanked the three comrades and raised the expectations. It is an important political and strategic task to carry out coordination and counterpart assistance in poverty alleviation between the East and the West. At present, we are in a special period of epidemic prevention and control. After arriving in Zhangbei County, we should not only make efforts in epidemic prevention and control, but also carry out targeted poverty-alleviation assistance according to the superiors' requirements. We should strengthen the contact with local departments, cooperate with and support each other to make contributions to safeguarding the health of local people.
Finally, on behalf of the Party Committee, Guo Chunlei, the secretary of the Party Committee, put forward several requirements. First, we should attach great importance to targeted poverty alleviation. Poverty alleviation is the most direct and fundamental task of solving practical problems related to people's livelihood. Second, we should accurately grasp the meaning of targeted poverty alleviation. Targeted poverty alleviation, the improvement and upgrading of the national poverty alleviation and development strategy, aims to improve the effect of support, eliminate absolute poverty, and achieve accurate identification, assistance, management and assessment. Third, we should take concrete actions to achieve targeted poverty alleviation. Since Guangwai Hospital and Guangwai Community Health Service Center undertook the task for targeted poverty alleviation, we must earnestly do a good job to solve of the problems and difficulties of poverty-reduction unit, bring our love and support to there. By improving our professional skills, we should make local people truly feel the effects of targeted poverty alleviation.
Taking targeted measures to alleviate poverty is an arduous task with heavy responsibilities. Guangwai Hospital will promote "targeted poverty alleviation" with a high degree of political consciousness and responsibility, do well in the guidance of medical technology, wholeheartedly improve the quality of medical services for local people, steadily promote the targeted poverty alleviation project of medical health and contribute to building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
