On May 30, the "National Science and Technology Workers' Day", Academician Tong Xiaolin attended the second National Innovation Competition Medal Commendation and Award Conference and won the "National Innovation Competition Medal" jointly issued by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

　　On the eve of "National Science and Technology Workers Day", Academician Tong Xiaolin, as one of 25 representatives from the technology industry, sent a joint letter to major leaders of the CPC Central Committee to report on their experience in studying and implementing Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and their work considerations in light of their efforts in fighting the epidemic and resuming work and production. The letter demonstrated their confidence and determination to work with scientific and technological workers across the country to overcome difficulties and get ahead through innovation.

　　In his reply, General Secretary Xi Jinping highly praised the scientific and technological workers' devotion to serving the country, fully acclaimed the achievements of scientific and technological support for epidemic prevention and control, and affirmed the great importance that the Party Central Committee attached to scientific and technological undertakings and the concern for scientific and technological workers.

　　In the symposium of National Science and Technology Workers Day, Academician Tong Xiaolin together with her colleagues in scientific and technological field, earnestly studied and understood the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to representatives of the scientific and technological circles. She said, we should unite more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi at its core, strengthen the "four consciousness", confirm "four confidence" and achieve "two maintenance". We would use science and technology to foster new opportunities in a crisis and open up new prospects in a changing situation to make greater contributions to building a world power in science and technology and realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
