　　On the afternoon of June 5, Beijing Yanqing Hospital of Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine held the first meeting of Medical Ethics Committee in 2020. Three scientific research projects and one new technology project had passed the ethical review. Fourteen people attended the meeting, including the vice chairman of the Medical Ethics Committee of the hospital, the members and review project leaders. Mu Guirong, the chairman of the Medical Ethics Committee hosted the meeting.  

　　At the beginning of the meeting, Zhan Yanhua, the secretary of the Medical Ethics Committee, organized everyone to learn the 2019 edition of "Guidelines for the construction of Ethics Review Committee for clinical research involving Human beings"(the Ethics Review Committee is responsible for content review). Subsequently, the committee members made a careful review on three scientific research projects of the hospital and one new project of new technology which were approved in 2020, respectively from aspects of research plan, risks and benefits of the trial, subject recruitment, informed consent, and medical protection of subjects. "Randomized controlled trial of acupoint application therapy for post-meal indigestion discomfort syndrome of the elderly's spleen deficiency and Qi (refers to the circulating life energy in Chinese philosophy) stagnation", "Survey and analysis on the health status of the elderly in 7 nursing homes in Yanqing District", "Scientific research project on the curative effect observation of patients with AECOPD (acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)" and "New project of new TAPP technique for the treatment of inguinal hernia", these four projects passed the ethics review by on-site vote.

　　Committee Chairman Mu Guirong said, since the hospital medical ethics review was still in its infancy, all the work needs to be improved. The members of the Ethics Committee should strictly perform their duties, attach great importance to clinical ethics and scientific research ethics, put the safety and rights of the subjects in the first place, give play to the important role of ethical review in escorting scientific research, and gradually improve the level of ethical review in the hospital.
