In the face of the new situation of Covid-19 prevention and control in Beijing and Daxing district, according to the district health commission and street deployment, south district of Guang'anmen hospital and Qingyuan Street Community Health Service Center strictly carried out the control measures, strengthened the organization and management, department cooperation, united coordination, and promptly established a team of more than 200 medical staff from the hospital and the center to provide throat swab nucleic acid sampling services for residents of Qingyuan street and Gaomidian communities.
Recently the temperature was sustained high in Beijing, the highest temperature was 38℃ and the ground temperature reached 40℃. However, the intense heat did not affect the work enthusiasm of medical staff in the nucleic acid collection site. From June 14 till now, they wore airtight protective clothing, endured the scorching sun and heat wave, raced with time, tried their best to guide residents, maintain the order, register information, collect specimen and other work, in four sampling sites which were Jinxing Park, Thriving Park, Zhongjian International Port in Qingyuan Street, and Gaomidian Street Sports Center, ensuring the orderly and safe conduct of nucleic acid sampling from throat swabs.
When they took off the protective clothing at the end of work, clothes had been soaked in sweat, hands were wrinkled with sweat and deep scars left on their faces. But no one got cold feet, no one complained. Colleagues talked and laughed, comforted each other, wiping the sweat on their faces and kneading the sore waist. After a hasty meal and a short rest, they once again threw themselves into a new round of collection work.
During the sampling test, someone fainted from heat stroke. The first thing that she said after she woke up was: Sorry, I'm fine. I can take samples later. Thank them for protecting the health of residents under the scorching sun. Please take care of yourselves!
Comrades working at the collection points of the two streets included hospital leaders, middle-level cadres, Communist Party members and ordinary workers. They stuck to the high-risk specimen collection post, regardless of gains and losses, not afraid of risks, sacrificed individual interests for collective benefits, practiced medicine commitment with practical actions!
