The year 2020 is a special year as the world has experienced Covid-19, the most widespread global pandemic, in nearly a century. This is a serious crisis and a severe test for the whole Chinese people. In the face of the sudden attack of unknown virus, medical workers were not afraid of sacrifice, fighting against the disease and sticking to the forefront of epidemic prevention and control. The public security officers gave up their vacations, and stood guard to protect people's safety and health. Medical workers and public security officers were closely linked. They firmly held hands to protect the health and safety of the people and maintained social peace and stability.
On schedule, Professor Cui Shusheng, a famous Chinese medicine doctor, led many of his disciples to Dongcheng Public Security Bureau to provide free medical treatment to police officers and present "sanfutie plasters" as a gift. This was also the sixth time since 2015 that Cui Zhusheng National TCM inheritance Studio and Beijing Dongcheng District Community Health Service Management Center have carried out this service.
The "sanfu plaster", also known as sanfu moxibustion, refers to a traditional therapy that is to make medicine paste on the points to prevent and cure diseases. According to the principle of "treating winter diseases in summer and summer diseases in winter", special dispensed drugs can be applied to specific acupoints in the dog days of summer, so as to remove evil spirits by stimulating the acupoints. It is especially effective for chronic cough and other diseases characterized by winter aggravation.
The epidemic is a command, participation is dedication. Members of Cui Shusheng's state-level famous TCM inheritance studio worked mostly in the clinical front line, and tried their best to complete the tasks of nucleic acid testing and patient treatment. Some of the postgraduate students have been rooted in local communities, providing voluntary services and making contributions to the fight against the epidemic. This activity gathered the core members of the studio, gave full play to the spirit of continuous fighting, and went deep into the work site of the police officers for applying and free medical treatment services. As policemen had struggled for a long time in the grass roots and were busy at work, which created inevitable physical discomfort. Therefore, in addition to the application activities, Professor Cui and his disciples also provided the police officers with pulse diagnosis and prescription, health consultation, blood pressure measurement, orthopedic examination, massage therapy, auricular point treatment and other services, so as to provide the police officers with health protection to the greatest extent. Professor Cui guided his disciples to examine the pulse and analyse the condition according to the working characteristics of the police officers to ensure that each officer could receive individualized treatment from multiple angles, such as applying, selecting points and prescribing. Health workers at the Urban Community Health Service Management Centre also provided the services of health records establishment and blood pressure, blood sugar and body fat measurements for police officers.
