Beijing Gulou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine carries out comprehensive assessment of "theory + skill" for head nurses

In order to further improve the quality of traditional Chinese medicine nursing service and consolidate the connotation construction, Beijing Gulou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine started the "Comprehensive improvement project of nursing skills emphasizing foundation, strengthening connotation and promoting service" in early July. The Nursing Department formulated a work plan, refined the assessment process and standards, held a special meeting and carried out work deployment. On July 13, the "theory + skills" comprehensive assessment was carried out within the scope of the head nurses.
The assessment focused on theoretical tests of basic theoretical knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, basic norms of nursing, Covid-19 protection, sense of hospital and responsibility of head nurse. On-site assessment was conducted on CPR first aid and characteristic nursing operation techniques of each department. Meanwhile, the satisfaction survey of special head nurses also increased. Next, the Nursing Department would carry out stratified assessment for all nurses, and evaluate each nurse. This work would be implemented in detail, with whole-process supervision and real-time feedback.
This project aimed to further consolidate the basic skills of nursing staff, strengthened nursing management from the details, urged the head nurse to fulfil her duties, improved the connotation construction of each nursing unit, constantly played to the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, promoted the quality of nursing services, and improved the satisfaction and sense of gain of patients.
