From April 22 to 23, Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Research Center and Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine Association Science Popularization Committee organized some traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, integrated Traditional Chinese and Western medicine hospitals and primary school staff representatives in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou city to investigate and discuss "Traditional Chinese medicine culture into campus". Suzhou traditional Chinese medicine culture into the campus "city mode" triggered the experts and scholars attending the in-depth thinking.
In the first year of the "fourteenth Five-year Plan", how to carry out this meaningful work better? What does TCM "advance" into the campus? The answer given by Xiangcheng district is worth learning and reference.
The introduction of Traditional Chinese medicine culture into schools is conducive to the education of excellent Chinese culture among young people and the cultivation of confidence and pride in national culture from an early age. Before the "TCM Culture into Campus" campaign, many children, especially those in urban areas, had almost no knowledge of TCM and lacked a sense of identity and pride in TCM culture. The aim of the campaign is to let the excellent traditional Chinese culture represented by traditional Chinese medicine culture into the hearts of young people, and let the traditional Chinese medicine culture come out of the "fault, division" dilemma.
TCM culture must be integrated into campus culture to make TCM culture a part of campus culture. Campus culture takes students as the main body, so traditional Chinese medicine culture must focus on students. The activity of "TCM Culture into Campus" in Xiangcheng District of Suzhou has a solid foundation of teachers and students' participation, among which, the leaders of wangting Central Primary School and other primary schools took the lead and arranged it, which enhanced the coherence and continuity of the activity and avoided becoming a mere formality.
The introduction of TCM culture into the campus is inseparable from the strong support and cooperation of the local Traditional Chinese medicine hospital. Suzhou Xiangcheng District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Wangting Central Primary School jointly established the Traditional Chinese Medicine Young School Forest ,"Primary and Secondary School Traditional Chinese Medicine Teaching Base". With this base as the link, students' knowledge horizon of Traditional Chinese medicine has been expanded and their experience of traditional Chinese medicine has been increased. In particular, the unique interactive experience mode of Traditional Chinese medicine has made children fall in love with traditional Chinese medicine through teaching and learning.
The cooperation between Xiangcheng Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Wangting Central Primary School pays special attention to the combination of daily teaching and Traditional Chinese Medicine cultural knowledge. For example, the wisdom of TCM health preservation in idioms, the cultural connotation of TCM in ancient literature and so on, as an extension of extra-curricular teaching, not only helps students to further master the original knowledge, but also helps teachers and students to easily master the culture and practical knowledge of TCM in the process of combined learning.
The teachers of the research group also took the students to the mountain to collect medicine, and got to know a lot of Chinese herbal medicine. And the picked herbs were selected into a series of interesting Chinese herbal medicine creative stickers.
The key point of TCM entering the campus lies not only in the campus, but also in the support of the students' families. During the epidemic prevention and control period, the students carried out various home TCM epidemic prevention activities with the knowledge they learned, and introduced TCM prevention tips to everyone through the wechat of the school, striving to be the little pioneers in epidemic prevention.
The "Xiangcheng mode" combined with colleges and universities fully explores the rich moral and humanistic education resources contained in traditional Chinese medicine culture, and actively gives play to the unique role of traditional Chinese medicine culture in personality cultivation and moral shaping of teenagers by telling some stories of medical ethics. Chinese medicine helps children grow up healthily and further improve their personality and character.
