    General Secretary Xi jinping's important speech on strengthening scientific and technological innovation, strengthening basic research and strengthening national scientific and technological strength at the General Assembly of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the tenth National Congress of China Association for Science and Technology is like the sound of a great bell or a horn, which has issued a mobilization order for us scientists and engineers to march toward becoming a scientific and technological power in the world. The general Secretary's speech profoundly expounded the mission and tasks of the Party's scientific and technological work under the new circumstances, refreshing and inspiring us all.

　　Since the reform and opening up, China has made a series of major achievements in the field of science and technology, standing in the East with a new attitude, but a new round of scientific and technological revolution is coming, we must set up new strategic goals and meet new challenges.

　　We are fully aware that in the face of fierce international competition, without core competitiveness, we will lag behind and be beaten. In the face of the "neck" problems, if we can’t overcome them, we may be clamped or blocked; In the face of the constraints of the scientific and technological mechanism, failure to break the reform will hinder the process of development. It’s is the major responsibility and lofty mission of our scientific and technological workers to cope with and solve these problems .

　　We are deeply aware that academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences are a group of scientists with a strong sense of patriotism. We are in the great era of "two" one hundred goals . With the cause of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, we must carry forward the spirit of the great scientist, adhere to the "four dimensions", "four confidence", and play the role of mainstay in the international competition of science and technology, the pushing role in the development of society, and the role of advanced productivity in the economic construction . We'll become the backbone of the country, the master craftsman, the foundation of the country, and the future of the country.

　　We are deeply aware that a nation without self-confidence and self-improvement cannot stand on its own in the world. We will not just take someone else's sword and shout "Good sword! Good sword!" , we should have "changying sword courage" -- casting sword, sharpening sword, shining sword, fighting sword!！Whateve others have, we must have; We must have what others have not; What we don't have today, we must have tomorrow!
