A few days ago, Yanqing District of Beijing launched an appropriate technology training of traditional Chinese medicine for grassroots health professionals.

　　The training is divided into 6 phases. The teaching faculty is composed of the selected Traditional Chinese medicine experts who have long been working in the clinical front line from Yanqing Hospital of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the yanqing District Grass-roots Suitable Technology training base of Traditional Chinese Medicine. By means of combining theory and practice, nearly 300 health professionals at the grass-roots level in the region were trained and assessed for four suitable techniques of Traditional Chinese medicine including cupping therapy, moxibustion therapy, scraping therapy, ear point bean pressing, enabling grass-roots health professionals and rural doctors to fully master and use the above appropriate techniques of Traditional Chinese medicine.

　　The training will further improve the basic skills of grassroots health technicians to use TCM basic theories and diagnosis and treatment methods to prevent and treat common and frequently-occurring diseases, improve the level of TCM diagnosis and treatment and service capacity at grassroots level, and better meet the needs of urban and rural residents for TCM services.
