The qualified out-patient departments, clinics, health centers (stations), the first-aid centers installed independently, palliative care centers, blood dialytic centers, nursing homes can also apply to be admitted into designated medical institutions for medical insurance. Meanwhile, Internet hospitals can rely on their physical medical institutions to apply to sign supplementary agreements to be included in the scope of designated medical insurance. The new policy will take effect on January 1, 2022.

Beijing Youth Daily reporter has learned that there are now more than 2900 designated medical institutions in the city for insured people to choose from. The insured people not only can go to the doctor in the chosen designated medical institution but 2500 other shared designated medical institutions directly, including 39 A class designated medical institutions, over 160 designated specialized hospitals, more than 170 designated traditional Chinese hospitals and 2200 more community health service orgnaizations. This means that medical treatment will be more convenient for insured personnel.
